Getting benefits advice
The benefits I know well are Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Personal Independence Payment (PIP), which is replacing DLA for working age claimants, and Attendance Allowance (AA), which is similar to DLA but for older people (but doesn’t have a mobility component). There is some excellent help around for disabled claimants, some of which are free.
Some of the best help can be found from the following organisations:
Benefits and Work – a subscription service, which is well worth the fairly reasonable annual subscription! Covers the main benefits claimed by disabled people
Disability Rights UK – factsheets and other help, free of charge
